Time To Jump The Queue

I presume you’ve never heard of Torben Stock. Well, this could be easily changed, provided that you read on. The Hamburg-based singer and songwriter recently released his really beautiful debut album “Rocket” he has been working on since 2007. He surely took the old adage “haste makes waste” seriously, every single song on the album can compete with widely known musicians such as William Fitzsimmons, Fink or Glen Hansard. Most of the songs get by with a very low key instrumentation and emphasize that Torben Stock and his melancholic crooning convey atmosphere all by itself. The title song “Rocket” and the lullaby-ish “Kiss Me Good Night” are my personal favourites, I totally love the intimate vibe.
One thing is for sure: it’s time for Torben Stock to jump the singer-songwriter queue.
The other reason you should keep his name in mind, Torben Stock is one of the Melodica Festival organizers. This festival celebrates local music scenes around the world and provides a platform for emerging musicians. Make sure you get there, when the festival comes to your town you can check out the website for more information.
