I guess the most intriguing thing about Nils Frahm’s music is the fact that no matter when or where you listen to it, it always enhances every moment, every situation. The world seems to be a bit more peaceful, the sun seems to shine a bit brighter and your home feels a bit cozier. The single “Unter | Über” is a taste of what’s to come this winter, when Nils Frahm will release his new album on Erased Tapes. The twin songs “Unter” und “Über” live on their beautiful Lo-Fi character, I love especially the sound of the piano keys in the background. It’s like he sits right beside you and plays the piano. The icing on the cake is a  gentle remix by Dutch experimental musician Rudger Zyderveldt aka Maschinefabriek. The digital release of “Unter | Über” is also accompanied by a video from German filmmaker Ralph Etter. Altogether with just about six minutes length this might be one of the shortest singles released this year, but who cares? That’s why God (or Steve Jobs) invented the repeat button. Just use it.
