The Goldberg Sisters consist of Adam Goldberg and his purported twin sister Celeste presenting a sound that ranges from “psychedelic to the psychotropic, exploring themes from the depressing to the negligibly less depressing, will put a wiggle in your step and a Prozac in your coffee.” Well, if you think this album probably sounds odd, I can assure you: it does. It sounds very beautifully odd. Imagine a nice little Bohemian cobbled street on a sunny day with old two-storeyed buildings and people sitting outside the cafés enjoying their fair trade coffees and organic lemonades. Tunng and Portugal The Man are living next door to The Goldberg Sisters, Lightspeed Champion comes for a visit from time to time and Bob Ross runs the stationery and art supplies shop on the ground floor. That’s pretty much how the album sounds.
